Dear Readers,

I have some exciting news!! I am starting a new school this fall and I am really looking forward to it. New teachers, making new friends, different surroundings - all of it sounds really cool and I am sure it will be a great adventure. Of course, I still love to read and I definitely want to keep my Blog; however, due to this new venture and an increase in after-school activities, I will only be able to post a new review once a month. Still on Saturday at three pm and probably the last Saturday of the month. Please continue to join me as I do love to share my reads with you. Thank you for understanding.

The Cricket In Times Square by George Selden (145 pages)

 Summary

Chester Cricket, who was living in the peaceful meadows of Connecticut, accidentally boarded a train to New York City. While there Mario, a young boy, makes a nice and comfy home for Chester in his parent's newsstand. Tucker, a mouse, and Harry, an alley cat, help Chester become comfortable in his new surroundings. Soon Chester realizes that he has a talent that he can share with the world.

Opinion

I think that the idea of a cricket boarding a train, traveling to New York City and then making a new home in a subway station, is both funny and interesting. This is really a good story, as far as I am concerned. My favorite character is Tucker, the mouse, because he is not only funny, but nice and compassionate as well. I especially like the talent that the author gave Chester, which is discovered in the middle of the story. Do try this book. It's definitely worth the read.

Charlie Thorne and the Last Equation by Stuart Gibbs (392 pages)

 Summary

Albert Einstein, the famous scientist, created an equation called Pandora that could destroy the world, if it fell into the wrong hands. So Albert hid it for the sake of the world. Charlie Thorne, a genius, a thief and only twelve years old, was dragged into the fatal hunt to find Pandora before the Furies, a world wide terrorist group who likes to create chaos, find it and destroy the world. From trying to complete a complex code, to trying to survive the Furies, Charlie will embark on a journey that she'll never forget.

Opinion

My Mom got me this books in a new series by my favorite author, Stuart Gibbs, and I absolutely love it. I think instead of having a man or boy be the main character in the story, having a twelve year old girl is quite a change for most of my favorite books. I think the idea of Charlie Thorne, a very young genius, saving the world is really awesome. In addition, the fact that Charlie is both brave and daring makes for interesting reading. I hope you'll try this absolutely amazing book.

Joe and Frank Hardy will have to pass many obstacles in order to solve the mystery and bring the criminal to justice.

Opinion

In my opinion, this book is packed with many exciting adventures and lots of action. It is also quite funny in some parts. It kept me totally involved from the beginning to the end. In addition, most of the characters are very interesting. I always enjoy reading about the Hardy brothers because even when they are in tight situations, they still bring every criminal to justice. I hope you try this book.
